Stella Day is an experienced and accomplished litigation attorney focusing on probate and guardianship matters. Stella joins Johnston Tomei Lenczycki & Goldberg, LLC following a successful career at the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. With over 16 years of experience, Stella handled complex felony and misdemeanor cases ranging from DUI, Aggravated Battery, Sexual Assault, and Murder. She successfully litigated numerous jury trials and evidentiary hearings in many different courtrooms. She has also worked extensively with cases involving issues of mental health and competency.
Stella has been a guest speaker on trial preparation and litigation at Lake Forest College and College of Lake County. She finds the experience of working with clients and their families and guiding them through the legal process to be not only an honor and a privilege, but also extraordinarily rewarding. She prides herself on taking the time to talk to her clients and making sure they not only understand the process but are confident that their attorney will fiercely and passionately represent their rights. The areas of probate and guardianship can often be an overwhelming and emotionally charged experience.
Stella expertly leads her clients through the complexities of the law and makes sure to thoroughly discuss and incorporate their goals, working together towards a successful resolution of their matter. Stella is fluent in Russian and assists Russian speaking families in understanding and navigating the court system. She graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from Truman State University in 2003 and received her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in 2006.
